After a very brief conversation in which I questioned his recent whereabouts, my big boy began to violently blow bubbles in an exaggerated expiration and submerged himself, hiding from my sight.
He quickly resurfaced and proceeded to purposefully swim away past the Cypress cover pond side. I followed him briefly and then went to a separate overlook to check on a sighting of a second gator I had spotted on the drive in.
No matter how many times I have crossed the pond, I always make a last pass over heading in the direction of my home. Usually these trips are uneventful but yesterday my breath caught in my throat as my old Dinosaur was pulling himself up out of a steep slide onto the roadside!! Let me tell you!! The sight of this magnificent specimen positioning himself to bask in that life-giving and healing sun was nothing less than awe inspiring. My awe quickly turned to concern for his well-being as cars and trucks began speeding by then slowing to ogle @ my boy.
Of course I took advantage to get a clearer view of his war wound minus the distortions from being under water. I hung out with my buddy for over an hour marveling @ his very being the survivor that he is gracing me with his presence.
Till Later My Gator...
